Baggage, Baggage, Who's a Baggage?

So, just who & what is a baggage?
Well, 'The Black Baggage' is a 13.3hh coal black mare, about 10-12 years old, looking like a small Fell x Welsh sort of thing, with a huge mane & an even bigger attitude, that my daughter has recently started riding on a sort of casual loan agreement. (Owner doesn't have time to ride her & nobody else particularly wants to!)

But why 'baggage'? Well.........
Definition of baggage: 'An impudent female!'
Definition of impudent: 'Prone to offensive boldness, casual disrespect, rude & insolent behaviour......!'

All of which describe her perfectly!

Pony's favourite hobbies:

1. Randomly attempting to murder other ponies & horses! Sometimes all that is required is for her to lift her head & whatever unfortunate equine happens to be in her line of sight becomes her latest 'victim'!
(Owner insists she is 'dominant' but I prefer the term 'sociopath'!)

2. Running down the local wildlife - the Canada geese are a particularly favourite target for her & she will go out of her way to try & mow them down!
(The reasoning? No idea but same explanation as in the brackets in point 1. presumably!)

3. Being groomed & having her ears rubbed, whereupon she turns into 'nice pony' & usually drops off to sleep! (Thus giving the other equines & said local wildlife a temporary reprieve from her murderous intentions!)

Strengths & weaknesses?
1. Pony broncs, tanks, is strong as an ox & virtually unstoppable once up to speed! (Actually that is untrue, she is virtually unstoppable at any pace, even a walk!)

2. Pony can jump almost anything out of a trot, her favourite pace & even when not fully fit, has stamina to spare & like the battery bunny, just keeps on going & going, no matter what!

3. Pony is highly vocal & greets, converses with you using a fascinating selection of nickers, whinnies & random snuffly noises! (Sometimes this makes up for the pain & terror inflicted on you when you ride her, sometimes it doesn't!)

4. Pony is very clever, with a great sense of fun & whilst not always the most obedient or compliant of equines, is never boring!

OK, enough with the introduction, where are the pics then! Alright, alright, keep your hair on! Piccies coming next!
